Description
A guide coat to help identify scratches and other surface imperfections, during the sanding process. 3M™ Dry Guide Coat Orange provides a method of identifying surface imperfections such as scratches and pinholes in the primer. These can be very difficult to see without the use of a guide coat and would subsequently impair the final finish causing rework. It is designed for use primarily with dark tinted primers, where the traditional black guide cannot be used as the contrast in colour is not enough to be seen. It works by leaving a metallic sheen on the surface which will only be removed during the primer sanding process. Dry guide coat can be used with either wet or dry sanding methods. Contains no solvents and can be used on marine fillers, primers, paints and gelcoat. Dry Guide Coat – Orange (50146) can be used on lighter colour primers and polyester fillers, but Dry Guide Coat – Black (09560) may still be preferred as it gives a stronger contrast. Used with applicator 9561.
